GENDER VIOLENCE

...It Makes Some Feminists Want a World Without Men...

...But what about women's violence? If feminists (and the media) don't take women's violence seriously, why should men take women's opinions seriously? After all, according to ideological feminists' own definition of hate crimes, violence is merely an opinion acted out, a view expressed by behavior.
"If one is to accept the basic principles of equality that feminism advances, then one must accept that women, like men, are capable of the entire range of human action and experience: from the summits of artistic creativity and human compassion, to the depths of debased violence and evil." --Adam Jones

SEXUAL HARASSMENT

"With this I will manipulate your little male brain." But all power carries a price tag.

THE WORLD OF CHILDREN

As society vigorously promotes women's equality in the world of work, it generally impedes men's equality in the world of children.

IS VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN NOT TAKEN SERIOUSLY?

posted Saturday, 21 October 2006

When Congress created the Violence Against Women Act in 1994, it did so, I believe, largely to appease the many illogical feminists* who still claim, as they claimed before 1994, that violence against women is not taken seriously.

     But NCFM member
Marc Angelucci says, “If while driving drunk you kill a black man, you'll face an average prison term of two years. If you kill a white man, the term will increase to four years. And if you kill a white woman, it will jump to six years.”

And if you could travel back in time to a few decades ago and ask poor little 14-year-old
Emmett Till, the black boy who was brutally murdered in the 1950s for whistling at a white woman, I'm pretty sure he'd say even a trivial offense against women is taken far too seriously.

It seems many others would agree. According to PBS television's “American Experience," in its February 16, 2006, broadcast of "The Murder of Emmett Till," "Nearly 500 black men were lynched for associating with white women by Till's time. White women were put on a pedestal." [Emphasis by Male Matters.] "When white women were on the street, we had to get off the street," said an elderly black Mississippi man.

Women's pedestal/protected status has also been reinforced by movies. In the 1939 film, "The Taming of the West," a sheriff slugs a man for refusing to remove his hat in the presence of women. Think about that. Some feminists might say 1939 was in the midst of patriarchy's unfettered, sanctioned violence against women. Yet here we have a movie showing a sheriff, an instrument of the law and presumably an instrument of the patriarchy, not putting the women in “their” place as feminist would predict, but slugging the man who failed to defer to them as if he were a disobedient peasant standing before royalty, or a rebellious slave before his master. How's that for an object lesson to the young boys and men watching this movie! To put this in its proper gender perspective, can you imagine a movie — in 1939 or in any other year — showing a sheriff slugging a woman who refused to, say, make coffee for the men at work? Or one who refused to remove her hat in the presence of men? Which sex is ruled most by the patriarchy?

If a special protection law from Congress were ever really needed, maybe one should have been enacted long ago to protect men who didn't defer to women
in the social sphere or didn't take women's protected/pedestal status seriously -- and to protect young boys who dared to commit the "grave violence" of whistling at a white women.

No doubt little Emmett Till could have used such a law.

And again an offense is not taken seriously because it was committed by a women who, according to illogical feminists, is a member of the “never offensive” sex: “A judge dismissed an indecent exposure charge against a woman accused of disrobing in front of a 14-year-old boy, saying the law only applies to men.” More...

* Why I say “illogical feminists” instead of “ideological feminists” when referring to feminists who advocate an antimale ideology:

Most ideological feminists, it seems, loathe logic, calling it a tool used by men to oppress women. (Sound incredible? See the startling new book about the feminist-inspired hatred of males, Legalizing Misandry: From Public Shame to Systemic Discrimination Against Men. The authors write, “How patronizing [of feminists in women's-studies classes] to tell young women that the ways of logic, statistics, and mathematics are not women's ways — that all they need to do is stay connected.”)

These feminists' ideas all too often simply don't make sense, are not based on logic, and hence are illogical. (Read about the illogical ideas of the National Organization for Women in "MALE MATTERS Takes Apart 'Pay Equity' For Women.")

Hey, the word illogical even sounds a bit like ideological.

Illogical feminism may be doomed to fail. "Most Americans,” says a popular cable TV pundit, “are not ideological, and they respond to logic, not politically driven emotion."
