“Wal-Mart Stores Inc., the world's largest retailer, announced Monday it would expand its discounted prescription drug program to offer 90-day supplies for $10 and add several women's medications...to its list of prescriptions available for $9, including drugs to treat breast cancer and hormone deficiency. For instance, alendronate, the generic version of osteoporosis medication Fosamax, will be added to the list. Company pharmacies will fill 30-day prescriptions of alendronate for $9 and a 90-day supply for $24 at a comparison of $54 and $102, respectively, that women previously paid for the same amounts, the company said. Tamoxifen, used to treat breast cancer, will be offered for $9 for a 30-day supply, as well as combination estrogen/methyltestosterone tablets, prescribed for menopause and hormone deficiency.”
Naturally, Wal-Mart, like most other institutions in society, doesn't think for a second about the health of men, who have not only poorer health but a higher risk of mortality. Thus it apparently won't bother lowering the costs of drugs specifically for men. Maybe Mal-Mart has shifted into its appease-women gear since it was sued for sex-discrimination a couple of years ago.

Here's a statement that unintentionally reveals where we really are regarding gender equality: “Another reason politicians aren't making hay of the plight of males is that they are well aware that women are in no mood for it.” No sexism there, eh? And none of the female power that ideological feminists claim women don't possess! What if the statement had been put this way: “Another reason politicians aren't making hay of the plight of females is that they are well aware that men are in no mood for it.” The screams of protest would reverberate to the highest levels of the troposphere: “Sexism! No wonder we women can't get equality — men control the politicians!” More...

“The latest Australian Bureau of Statistics data shows the average female employee last year earned $690 a week, or about 35 per cent less than the average male wage of $1060. Sexism, the professional complainers will shriek, demanding inquiries, subsidies, commissions, special hirings, affirmative action, 'awareness' days, coloured ribbons and all the other trappings of our hyperactive victim industry. But read on, dear hothead.” More...

On CNN Headline News May 9, White Sox players were shown getting their chin beards painted pink to promote awareness of breast cancer. Over the years I've seen countless men promoting breast-cancer awareness. But not once have I seen a woman promoting prostate-cancer awareness. (But here is the rare — and odd — exception of women against male breast cancer!) The same with heart disease: Innumerable men have campaigned against heart disease in women, but to my knowledge not one woman has campaigned against heart disease in men, the group at far greater risk of the disease. Which sex did feminists say is selfish and sexist?
